Five Great Themes For An Adults Birthday Party

Image WeHeartIt

We see so many ideas across the internet for children's birthday parties, but what about us growups? When we reach the typical milestones - 18, 21, 30, 40 and so on - some of us wouldn't mind a party to celebrate. Whether it's a surprise bash or something that we have organised ourselves, a party with all our families and friends is sometimes preferred over a night on the town or a find dining meal.

If a party sounds right up your street - perhaps for your own birthday, or for someone you love - here are some fabulous themes that may help to inspire you, ranging from exuberance to pure unadulterated fun!

Vintage
If you fancy something a little bit subdued, afternoon tea complete with vintage china cups, finger sandwiches and bitesize sweet treats would be a perfect option. Decorate the room with bunting, warm up some scones and provide plenty of clotted cream, jam and pots of tea for everybody!
Alternatively, if you want to make an evening of it, you can stick with the vintage theme by asking guests to dress up in suitably retro gear. Take a look at some of the evening dresses from George at Asda for inspiration - you may be able to find a teadress or swing dress that would be suitable without breaking the bank.

Casino
Whip out the poker chips, grab a few cocktails and dress to the nines for an exuberant casino-themed birthday party. Dress in chic evening dresses and tailored suits and bring an air of sophistication to the evening. Depending on the size of the event, you could hire croupiers and mobile casino kits, or you could decorate your home in lush fabrics and fancy lighting, to make it feel like Sin City has landed on your doorstep. Are you feeling lucky?

Monochrome
Simple, yet effective, a monochrome party would be perfect for a do that is both sleek and stylish. Decorate anything in blacks and whites, and ask guests to stick to the dress code to achieve the full effect. Luckily, monochrome is one of the top trends this season so there's no shortage of outfits available to achieve the look, either!

Kids
Fancy being completely daft? Inject massive amounts of fun into the proceedings and bring a little nostalgia into the mix. From childhood party games, such as Pass the Parcel and Pin the tail on the Donkey, to jelly and ice-cream, sausages on sticks and slushy drinks, it's all in the name of fun! Make it a little more grown up with the addition of a tipple of booze and more adult-orientated  games if you wish!

Hollywood
Roll out the red carpet and plan the party around the Silver Screen. Think fancy cocktail dresses and evening wear, or ask your guests to dress up as their favourite Hollywood movie star.

Whatever you decide, parties aren't just for children. With a well-executed theme and enough imagination, you can make anything possible - perfect for a birthday party to remeber.
