Outnet.com £1 sale

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

After waking up early and checking my email account,(not early enough)eagerly awaiting the outnet.com £1 sale to celebrate it's one year anniversary. I was left empty handed and a little bit dissapointed.
There were some fabulous designers up for grabs - Oscar De La Renta, Marc Jacobs, Sass & Bide and Donna Karen to name a few, but none of this mattered as at 8am I was still trying to log on to the site, with no hope at all.
For over an hour I was sitting anxioulsy at my computer pressing the return button every time I saw the 'Server Busy' page flash up! Still nothing! At 9.45 I was able to log onto the site, (FINALLY!) but to my dismay practically everything was gone.
When I did find something that I wanted , the server was so busy that I couldn't click and get through to buy it.
Eventually the site automatically signed me out as it had taken so long to get that far. Sigh!
I started the process all over again, only to have the same thing happen once more.
I knew it was too good to be true! LOL!

Well done to all the girlies who managed to nab something in time! True shoppers - you must be pros. Ha Ha!
Let me know what you got. There were some fabulous pieces.

Hope you have a great Friday x

I dont even want to talk about it!

Absolute disgrace ... I was on in the site at 7.30am and there was nothing for £1, I saw that all the marc jacobs bags were selling out but turns out naughty outnet didnt reduce these down and along with thousand others, im waiting for the outnet to cancel the order - complete rip off and totally ruined my day!

Utter crap. Did ANYONE manage to buy anything. My daughter tried to get on the site the second the sale started and couldn't. I tried and got on but it wouldn't let me buy anything. How many did they have for sale at £1...one of everything I've no doubt just to reel us in.

True but they did have some lovely pieces x

I knew this would happen so don't feel so bad about forgetting to register - oops! Last time they had a sale, I couldn't get on. They need to sort out the technical issues.

I got the email at 7.24 and went straight on, but as nearly all the bags and about 90% of the shoes were sold out already I assumed that they must have had really low stock levels. However from reading some of the other (extensive!) internet coverage it seems some people got the email as early as 7.05....so not fair!!

At the very start I had an AMAZING pair of Roberto Cavalli shoes IN MY BAG, in my ACTUAL SIZE, clicked checkout as soon as they were in my bag, and by the time the page loaded they were gone :( I almost cried!! After nearly 2 hours I managed to get a See by Chloe playsuit...I wasn't even sure I wanted it but for a mere £1 I was desperate to get something!

Hope it fits after all that sleep I missed out on!xx

Aw damn, wish I'd read about this sale in time. Still, I was enjoying a nice lie-in instead, don't think I could handle busy servers and system crashes at 8am!

I registered but totally forgot.. Ooops! I just opened up my email and saw the invite email from Outnet. I had no idea you had to go via the email either. I recieved that email at 6.25am, so its no surprise that some people couldnt get on or that things were already sold out if emails had gone out that early.
Im so glad I didnt wait up (it sounded a bit too good to be true), it sounds like a complete farce!

Oh boy, makes me feel a little better that I had not heard anything about this sale till yesterday when it was too late to register! (I guess in retrospect I've seen a couple of these low-priced/free online giveaways turn into just this kind of mess of non-loading pages.) Hope some people got great stuff, though.

To be honest I don't even know why they bothered! I couldn't get onto the site at all. I just had to keep refreshing! They knew how many people would be logging on so why would they over subscribe! Thy may have a handful of happy cutomers but have twenty hands ful of pissed off ones! I won't be using them again!

I was lucky and managed to grab a runway Marc Jacobs piece. A bracelet to be exact. Was: 970 GBP :D
WUHU!

Audrey Allure said...

Haha that's crazy. Sounds like the Barney's warehouse sale here in New York - except there are actual women grabbing pieces physically in person.

I actually managed to buy something, a £210 see by chloe top, i was so lucky to get that item!, i had so many problems with the server signing me out but i just persisted finallly got an item! at first i had a pair of chloe sunglasses and then it signed me out i nearly cryed, very badly organised, you would have thought they'd do something about the server knowing how many people where going to visit the site,
i havent slept i had 4 hours sleep i was constantly refreshing my email page!
i feel so gulity now, especially at the amount of people that got items!, dont worry ladies, i expect by next week ebay will be bustling with items from this sale, and maybe including mine! :)

The did the same thing on their US site and it opened at 6:45am. I wasn't even awake at 6:45! And what about those West Coast people? Definitely disappointing.

I forgot about it...by the time I got on to the site the sale was closed! Funny because I was up at 6:45...wish I had remembered!

Heyyy I went through the same thing you did! I tried logging onto the Outnet website as well and it kept telling me there was a server error! :( I was really upset! I couldn't get anything... (I can feel your pain!) xx

PS: Cemetry Junction was pretty good!

Oh my god, I've never heard of this. I'm kind of glad I didn't because I would probably do the same thing and get nothing. but £1! that's insane.

hope you get something another time(if there is one)

I've never heard of this, but I'm superjealous of those who not only have, but also managed to nab something! I'm sorry you didn't have success though :(

I tried logging on at 8.30am but didnt actually manage to get the page to load til gone 9am, by which time everything had gone! Very disorganised sale!

Couture said...

I also didn't manage to get anything, I'm also very dissapointed. But my dad (and other people) pointed -rightly I believe- out to me that it is legally impossible to sell things that are worth 1000€ for 1€. Maybe it was just one big stunt...

Hannah said...

I stayed up all night waiting for it to come online and got the email at 7.24am. The site took forever to load and logged me out a couple of times. The items were all selling out so quickly I was giving up hope that I would get anything but then I managed to get a Rachel Roy gown, reduced from £615 http://www.theoutnet.com/product/32360
They really should have been able to anticipate the kind of traffic they were going to get, but then again I think there was also a lot of people who heard about it and tried to get to the sale without knowing you needed to have done the RSVP which wouldn't help matters.
At the time I didn't realise quite how lucky I was to get anything considering the amount of countries who had access to the UK/European sale, but after seeing so many people saying how they cam away empty handed I would definately consider my self a very lucky girl!!!

S.Elisabeth said...

It WAS too good to be true =( I logged on late, sadly, and found the sale was CLOSED! And I've been reading all these articles about disappointments. It really seems like no one got anything!

It was a pretty ridiculous experience, and I wonder if the Outnet will ever try to do something like this again? If they do, I hope they are better equipped to handle all of the traffic, or have a lottery for the invitations, or something!

This was a fake promotion!!!! Link provided to people registered on guest list was just link to normal web not to any sales. The only thing through this link was web with full priced items at 7.25am and a minute later the link was just showing big logo of company with text" sorry our web is not working".It was showing this logo for 3 hours.
Company just wanted to have advertisement-that is it.
I hope this company will disappear . It scam company and crook
