Buying a New Build House

IMG_1573

As mentioned previously I have recently bought a new house. I have still yet to move into it as I made the decision to buy a new build. This happened back in Feb, when my house to be was literally 5 bricks high. The whole process itself has been easy as I am not part of a chain so I don't have to sort out my old house or anything, but the waiting seems like forever. I am ready to move in now and get it all sorted. I know buying a house is a commitment, but I swear buying a new build is an even bigger commitment due to the fact that you are buying blind. The show rooms were lovely, hence buying the house, so if you would like me to do a post on the show rooms then let me know. These pics are from my house a couple of weeks a go - it's supposedly going to be ready in 2 weeks time. I suggest if you ever buy a new build - never go to view it at first fix as you will leave crying, thinking that you have made the biggest mistake of your life. That might just be me, as I am a tad dramatic, however this is in fact the best decision I have ever made. I don't think I will buy a new build again, unless it's for convenience. I really am far too impatient, however I am very lucky that I was even in the position to buy a house and even luckier to have some amazing parents that have helped me along the way.

Oh wow, we're thinking of doing exactly the same at the moment. The waiting does sound annoying though. If you don't mind me asking, is this in London? Good luck with it all! xx

I feel your pain! I did this too, but I promise its all worth it when you get the keys and everything smells new! Plus, if you've been able to choose fitting it like building a dream house!

Yay, can't wait for you to move in and to see how you decorate! You should post the model picks. My dad's a contractor so I'm used to seeing rooms/houses in construction and then seeing the final product is so cool and satisfying. It'll be awesome!

I love new builds, when I buy that is something I would probably go for (or old house completely new inside). Wow lovely parents. I left home at 18, so desperate to move out, wish I had stayed home and saved a bit now :( oh well haha x

My mum bought her flat as a new build, and she was hilarious. When we looked at it, the building was just a shell, so she had absolutely no concept exactly where the flat was and what rooms were ours. Bonkers.
