Hair Colour Trends For Summer 2013

Are you thinking about changing your hair colour? Changing your hair to a completely different colour is a big decision.

You need to make sure it works for you and still looks relatively natural, unless you're going for the obvious hair dye look.

One more thing to consider is whether that hot trend you've spotted on so many celebs will still be popular in  a couple of months.

Sounds like it's high time you looked at the hottest hair style ideas for this summer. I've compiled a list of the latest styles and those that are set to stay for the rest of the year. Don't go for a new barnet, only to look outdated within weeks. Follow my advice and stay in fashion.

Ombré
This colour trend was first spotted early last year and became one of the biggest hits of the year. It is set to continue into the summer, but with a less distinction between the shades. Instead of an obvious change in shades, the 2013 ombré will be a much more subtle and natural looking finish.

Going red (or orange)
Last year was a massive year for the red head. Again, it's a trend that will carry on late into this year, but with a bit of a twist. Instead of the brilliant red seen throughout 2012, this year the style has evolved into a much bolder orangey-red shade.

Golden blonde
Although platinum and champagne blonde will always be a popular and fashionable look, this summer it’s all about a much softer and warmer shade. Rather than a white blonde or brassy yellow, you'll be looking for golden and buttery tones.

A bonus to this new trend is that the hair dye will cause less damage to your hair because they don't contain as many harsh chemicals.

Streaks
I have to admit that one trend I didn't really like last year was the pastel shades. Eek. It just made me think of little girls painting their hair with their mum's eyeshadow. So, I for one am thankful for the new trend of vibrant streaks.

Think primary colours – Christmas red or royal blue. The other benefit to bold and vibrant streaks is that everyone can join in, whereas the pastel shades only really work with blonde hair. If you're a bit iffy on the idea of bold streaks, why not try clip-in hair pieces first?

So now you've got my hottest hair colour trends for this summer, are you thinking of a radical change? What style will you be going for?

Great post! I've had my hair ombre since last year, and now thinking going going lighter for the Summer. May have to look into the Golden Blonde trend you mentioned.
