We all know that the fashion industry is a fast paced one and being on the other end as a consumer can be quite tough, especially if you are a fashion forward lady and likes to keep up with the latest trends. Here are my tips to help you spend your money wisely and make sure that you keep your wardrobe filled up with material goodness.

Key Items
Key items to me are classic pieces, that you can wear from day to night and can also dress up and dress down. Sexy items that every girl should really have in her wardrobe. First up on my must have list is the Little Black Dress. No girl should ever have a wardrobe without an LBD it should really be classified as a fashion crime. It's the perfect i've got nothing to wear go to item. A crisp white shirt or blouse should also be included, whether dressed up or down it's understated sexy and so easy to style. The black pump is a must must must. Great for the office and great for the bar and they match everything so they are definitely a wardrobe staple. Just make sure you invest in a comfy pair.

Budget
Knowing how much you can spend is an obvious factor really. Once all the bills have been paid it's nice to set aside some pennies for that must have winter coat or for a pay day treat as I like to call them. I personally use an ISA for savings as I find it an easy way to save each month and get it all out at the end of the year for a - Haven't I been good, shopping blow out. I decided to do this last year after receiving my annual bank statement and seeing that I spent the majority of my disposable income in Topshop. It was such a ridiculous amount that I don't even want to tell you. If you are all new to savings an ISAs - I found that the Halifax bank have some good offers. I have also taken out my mortgage with these guys so I 100% rate them.

Know what you own
My biggest problem is forgetting about previous items that I have bought. Case in point - I have 6 black maxi dresses and also 4 parker jackets. These items, I think can be included in the key items section, so the fact that I have these in multiples is just ridiculous. I have also been known to buy the same pair of shoes twice before so this is a massive must before you go out shopping for new items.
Do you have any saving tips except for don't go shopping? ;)

I'm totally guilty of buying similar items. I recently found four coral skirts in my closet! Not one, but FOUR!
