Ghost Meringues

Photobucket

So as you all know my skills in the kitchen are very limited and this just goes to prove that point. In the name of Halloween, I thought I would bake some Halloween treats. It was an epic epic fail! Whisking for 20 minutes is such a pain especially when it just ended up looking like Marshmallow fluff and didn't form stiff peaks, like the recipe said it would! I decided to admit failure and just pipe the marshmallow looking thing that i was left with. I think the pictures say it all, and yes you may laugh! I did. Although they came out looking like cracked dinosaur eggs, they tasted alright. They definitely did not taste that way they were meant to - they came out tasting like coffee. Yes coffee - beats me how that happened. Anyways if you feel like giving this a try then here is the recipe - let me know how they turn out.

lol, I'm going to try some meringues later - i wouldn't mind if mine came out like yours - I've got a feeling mine will just flop!

I think they look great, reminds something between german lebkuchen and macaroons (those for christmas and not the filled ones from laduree)
Maybe you can put some chocolate on the top... but I think they look delicious and I am sure they would turn out worse when I try...

Yumminess! I have always enjoyed the light fluffiness of meringues! Love how you attempted making ghosts out of them, and even if it was a "fail," I think they still look quite tasty! :)
