Top 5 Dresses to wear in the colours of the Olympics

Not everyone can get a ticket to the London 2012 Olympic Games, but many people are getting ready to celebrate the olympics in style at events such as cocktail parties and barbecues. If you're going to an Olympic event of any sort, then why not give some thought to your summer wardrobe? For example, you could use the olympic colour scheme for inspiration.

Electric Blue Cocktail Dress

Bright blue is lively and ideal for anyone with a fair complexion or blue eyes. An off the shoulder or halter style is perfect for an early evening summer party and there are plenty of fantastic cocktail frocks to suit everyone. Those who fancy showing off their pins could go for a short ra-ra dress or, for a more sophisticated look, try out a knee-length gown.

Flirty primrose yellow frock

Yellow dresses are lovely and cool for summer and they're a top choice for women with a dark complexion, or for anyone who wants to show off an early tan. How about dressing up in a flirty figure-hugging primrose silk dress? If bright yellow is not your thing, then there are many shades to suit all tastes, so you could go for a vintage fifties look with a buttermilk swing dress.

Gorgeous green ruffle dress

Ruffle dresses are all the rage at the moment and this ultra-feminine look is just right for daytime parties and outdoor events. Green is a great colour for setting off emerald eyes and red hair. If the full ruffle isn't for you, then think about accessorising with a subtle black ruffle bag or shoes.

Elegant scarlet gown

For a perfectly glamorous evening, nothing could be more dramatic than a full-length dress in scarlet. This colour is a good choice for anyone with dark hair. Whether you opt for a plunging neckline or a bare back, pair your racy red dress with a skyscraper black heels and you're sure to make the most athletic pulses race.

Classic little black number.

You simply cannot go wrong with the little black dress. If you're feeling romantic, consider a floaty frock in chiffon layers. Or, if you want a more buttoned-up or military approach, then a shirt-dress might be just what you're after. Black is an excellent backdrop for colourful accessories, so you could team your dress with red shoes and bag for a striking look.
